Mr. Swain has over 18 years of experience in designing, inspecting, and managing the construction of residential and commercial structures. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Colorado as well as a member of the Oklahoma Structural Engineers Association. During his construction management career, he worked on projects whose value typically varied between $10 million and $60 million and were located in Texas, Nevada, and Arizona. His structural design experience includes multi-family residential buildings, commercial structures, and oil and gas facilities. Because he has designed buildings located in numerous states, Mr. Swain has experience designing structures to withstand high snow loads in the northern part of the country, high seismic forces encountered on the west coast, and high wind forces such as those in Florida and the Gulf Coast. Mr. Swain’s design experience includes expansions to existing structures which often requires reinforcing of the existing building’s seismic or wind-force resisting system to meet current code requirements. Mr. Swain has also performed hundreds of forensic inspections on residential and commercial structures to determine the cause and/or extent of damage resulting from wind, hail, tornadoes, earthquakes, construction defects, soil movement, and catastrophes such as Hurricane Harvey. Mr. Swain has been retained and/or deposed as an expert witness for multiple legal cases involving cause/extent of structural damage and construction defects. In his spare time, Mr. Swain enjoys golf, exercise, home improvement projects, attending Life.Church, and spending time with his identical twin daughters.
